‘I Should Have Read That’ Book Tag

I found this delightful tag on booksnest.co.uk.

  • A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

I’m always getting recommendations and my TBR stretches for miles. Lately, my friend has been reading all the Colleen Hoover books so I feel like I may have to read her.

  • A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

On my physical TBR, I’ve had The Next Person You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom for over a year. I think I’ve been on such a fantasy kick that I had no desire to pick this up yet.

  • A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer is the next book I’m going to start, hopefully today!

  • A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

There are so many classics I want to read. One of them is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, which tells the story of an affair between Anna and a cavalry officer that scandalizes the people of St. Petersburg.

  • A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

There are SO MANY, but going on bookstagram, the first one I see is One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus. Though I’m not a big fan of mysteries, I want to read this one because it seems like it’ll have a Pretty Little Liars feel.

  • A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet

Most of the time, I read the book before I watch any adaptation. I did watch the movie Five Feet Apart, without reading the book and liked it, but I’m not sure if I’ll read it or not. Similarly, I loved the show The 100, and only just found out they were books first.

  • A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

Another book popular on Insta that I haven’t read yet is any Taylor Jenkins Reid book. Take your pick: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Malibu Rising, Daisy Jones and the Six, etc. I haven’t read any of them.
